Behind the Scenes at Allied Autocare Edinburgh

Our Edinburgh branch has been extremely busy this Autumn with our technicians being tasked with lots of repairs and services!

Next in line from our meet the team series is Stephen Dick, who was recently promoted at the beginning of August to Aftersales Supervisor after showing promising skills and a vast knowledge of vehicle maintenance. Here’s what he has to say about his role in our Edinburgh branch.

How long have you been with the company?

I’ve been here for three years just passed in August.

What attracted you to the role?

Allied offered me the chance to progress in my career, I’ve gone from Parts Advisor/Warranty Administrator to Aftersales Supervisor.

Can you explain what a large part of your role is and how you go about this?

I now do a number of different roles, the first being a Parts Advisor where I’m organising parts for technicians and customer orders, making sure all our records and reports are up to date and correct.

The second is Warranty Administrator where I process all the Peugeot Warranties for our Edinburgh branch. Lastly, my new role sees me helping to resolve any issues and look after the department when Derek, our Service Manager here in Edinburgh is unavailable.

Can you explain what a day in the life of an Allied Autocare Aftersales Supervisor includes?

I start by organising the parts first thing in the morning, ready for the technicians starting their jobs. I then help our Customer Service Advisors take in customers when needed and throughout the day order up parts for jobs in the workshop or for customers. In between all that I run our service and parts reports, process the Peugeot warranties and invoice for retail jobs.

What are the biggest challenges you face?

The biggest challenge I find is that we are a small team in Edinburgh so we need to be able to spread ourselves across various roles which has its challenges, but it can also be a good thing as everyone knows what’s going on with different customer jobs.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy making sure the customer has full satisfaction in the service we provide at Edinburgh. Ensuring the customer is always happy means they’ll give us repeat business whether its servicing, parts or other repairs.

If you’re looking to have your car serviced, MOT’d or if you’re in need of repairs, please give us a call on the number at the top of the page or leave your details in our enquiry form. We’ll be happy to help you!
